Maquoketa Caves State Park

This is probably one of the most interesting state parks in Iowa. It has rugged, interesting terrain like Backbone, but also boasts many caves that you can explore! From the large, easy to explore Dancehall cave to tiny caves that require some careful wriggling, they are all fun!

Cool! Maquoketa Caves was named Iowa's best attraction by USA Today!

Activities available at Maquoketa Caves State Park include camping, hiking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, wildflower viewing, and playground.

Nearby: Joinerville County Park, Black Hawk Wildlife Area, Mill Rock School County Park, Buzzard Ridge Wildlife Area
